Stand ready to work with the Trump Administration, our small business members, and other stakeholders to ensure Americans can access the credit American business needs to fuel the economy
Washington D.C. – Today, the American Free Enterprise Chamber of Commerce (AmFree Chamber) issued the following statement in response to a proposed 10% cap on credit card interest rates:
“AmFree Chamber shares the Trump Administration’s commitment to increasing access to affordable credit, yet we are concerned that arbitrary government price controls will create the unintended consequence of making it harder for small businesses, especially those with lower credit scores, to borrow money, forcing them to turn to riskier sources of credit. We look forward to working with the administration, our small business members, and other stakeholders to ensure Americans can access the credit American business needs to fuel the economy. AmFree Chamber stands ready to defend free markets and free enterprise for businesses of all sizes.”
