America is blessed with incredible natural resources that power our economy, while providing millions of Americans with good-paying jobs. Despite these benefits, domestic energy production is being threatened by those who seek to impose their green agenda through more mandates, red tape, and taxes.
Socialist Priorities
Massive public investment to transition away from fossil fuels toward a green and sustainable economy. Guaranteed support for workers in the fossil fuel industry, massive infrastructure and jobs programs, and public ownership over major transportation and energy infrastructure and natural resources.
Legislative Action
The “Green New Deal” seeks to fundamentally transform sectors of the economy, placing burdensome regulations on unrelated industries while expanding entitlements and investment in unreliable energy sources. In recent years, Congressional Socialists have been introducing “Green New Deal”-style legislation tied to healthcare and public education.
American energy is a domestic asset economically and a national security advantage. However, misguided Socialists in Congress are promoting legislation to eliminate energy production in America, which would make us more dependent on foreign energy and hamstring our economy.
As part of the political objective to phase out natural energy production in America, Democratic Socialists are proposing massive tax increases on oil production. These taxes would penalize American consumers while legislators pursue more control over industry and everyday American living standards.
